I've read lots of tour books, always looking for good suggestions and have only found one author who stands out above the rest as that is Rick Steves. Unfortunately, he does not do Australia. He does the Travels in Europe on your local PBS station.

I've used his books all over Europe (Ireland, England, Scotland, Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy, Scandinavia, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Budapest, Prague, Austria, Greece) and taken one of his tours (Turkey). He has never failed me yet - either in his recommendations on places to eat, to stay or to see.

Your suggested list of activities is right up there with his best stuff. I'm only sorry we have to wait until October to begin experiencing your list. … But I digress. I love your suggestions and they are as good as or better than any guidebook I've read on Australia."  July 2009

I am sitting on the porch with Stu, drinking coffee and talking over how wonderful the trip was. During the discussion of which was the best part (and we couldn't decide) I pulled up the email to write you and tell you how great it was. You set up the most wonderful trip for us.

I decided to take everyone's photos, put a slide show together with music, then burn the slide show, all the photos and music and send each of them a disc. Together we took over 2700 pictures!

Every transfer, transportation, hotel, side trip and area was perfect and showed your dedication to making our vacation the best possible.

I have to recommend to you the driver, John, on the Hunter Valley wine tasting tour. Not only is he very knowledgeable, his willingness to share and teach us the history of that part of Australia is something we will never forget. He truly took pride is introducing us to his country, history, and Hunter Valley, but he was retired Law Enforcement! His knowledge of wines and how to experience that area properly was invaluable.

Our last night in Cairns, we ate at the Water Bar, (it is in the shopping center at the beach, 3 blocks from the hotel) and I would highly recommend that you tell your clients about it. It is a little pricey, but probably the best food in Cairns.

My only regret in the Cairns area is that we didn't have enough time in Kuranda, the train was so fun and the SkyRail was spectacular.

I wish we had a day in Sydney to just explore the architecture of the city, there we so many great old buildings and churches with new construction built onto them (but that is not something everyone likes, I know).

I have attached a picture of us at the Hotel pool in Cairns, toasting you with the Champagne (thank you for that thoughtful gesture).

The Brewery tour was great, I always enjoy my beer, and now, even more so, knowing how much work goes into it and how proud they are of it. Mike and I went on a beer tasting mission and I decided that I like them all!

Everyone was so friendly, in Sydney I could just stand outside the Grace Hotel with a map in my hand and people would stop and make recommendations on what to see and do!

There is a conference in Sydney in 2012 and we are already talking about going back then. I would like to keep your information for that trip as well as recommend you to friends. I would like to add on New Zealand to that trip as I fear we missed out.
